If you’re a fan of zombie films, you now have the chance to prove it.
Adam R. Brown, who directed the award winning short „Plane • Face”, needs at least 5000$ to produce his project called „Monsters Are Real”, a film that explores how we say goodbye to our loved ones in a world without hospitals, doctors, and funeral homes. His new short also deals with the emotional toll isolation has on an individual. Influenced by Romanian New-Wave directors like Cristian Mungiu („4 Months, 3 Weeks, & 2 Days”) and Corneliu Porumboiu („Police, Adjective”), „Monsters are Real” will be shot in a minimalist style to create a realistic portrayal of a fantastical situation.
Adam Brown is a close friend and collaborator of the Romanian Film Festival in New York. Making Waves: New Romanian Cinema is joined by Transilvania International Film Festival and Full Moon Festival in helping Adam’s project.
