Founder of the Hot Clube de Portugal, the oldest jazz club in Portugal, and of the Cascais International Jazz Festival, Luís Villas Boas is an iconic figure in Portuguese jazz and also an anti-fascist symbol. Director and musician Laurent Filipe, who recounts taking his first steps in this musical genre inspired by Villas Boas, pays tribute to him in the film "The Last Trip." The biographical documentary features both unseen archival footage and interviews with musicians inspired by Luís Villas Boas.
The documentary screening will be followed by a jazz concert featuring Laurent Filipe (trumpet).
