The Czech focus encompasses 11 films offering a complex image of Czech cinema.

From the amusing Revival, about a band who broke up in 1972 and who plans a come-back, Honeymoon (by Jan Hrebejk) – Best Director in Karlovy Vary – a psychological drama about the tormenting past, The Godfather’s Story, the story of a man who sells watches and becomes a shadowy political figure, DK, a documentary about the radical architect David Kopecky, of The Story of Mr. Love, about the daily life of a schizophrenic who has a personal website. The thought-provoking The Great Night, Best Documentary in Jihlava, explores the city's nightlife and Normalization tries to find the truth about a murder case from the communist era.

Past is also featured in Velvet Terrorists, a film about three men sent to prison for planning various attacks against the communist regime and Burning Bush, the HBO miniseries by Agnieszka Holland, subject of a marathon screening. of course, a Czech Focus wouldn't have been complete without classics such as The Firemen's Ball by Miloš Forman, or Marketa Lazarova (1967), by František Vláčil, voted in 1998 by critics and artists the best Czech film ever made –  both in digitally restored versions. The Czech Focus is created in partnership with the Czech Film Centre and The Czech Centre.
