EcoTIFF promises to incite new debates this year with the four films screened on June 5, for the World Environment Day.

From 17.00, at Sapientia University, takes place the sole screening of Gasland II (dir. Josh Fox), a documentary about the exploitation of shale gas. The topic will be addressed in a debate attended by various specialists and activists. The other two films of EcoTIFF are Watermark (Best Documentary at the Canadian Genie Awards), about water pollution, and Population Boom, that questions the catastrophic vision of the overpopulation of the planet.

A related event, organized in collaboration with Zero Waste Romania on June 5, at the Chaos Club (The Ferdinand Galleries) includes the screening of Trashed, with Jeremy Irons as both the protagonist and the narrator, followed by a debate with one of the world’s greatest experts in waste management, Paul Connett, Professor Emeritus of Environmental Chemistry at St. Lawrence University, Canton, New York.
