The economics of film are changing. Distributors are move on from traditional practices such as ‘release windows’. The film industry is embracing more and more the online  world and demolish outdated barriers to business, especially to cross-border availability of films. The
arrival of direct links between the producer and the consumer, in particular via the Internet, is now fundamentally changing the economic characteristics of the business. Is it time to innovate the business model in films? Is there a need for a new architecture?

Each country is having yearly successful films at box-office who do not perform well in other markets. Italian comedies do not go well in UK. British comedies are rarely having an impact in Italy. Finding a French or German distributor for an Eastern European film is becoming more and more difficult.  Analysis on distribution abroad for several films coming from Eastern Europe, all very popular in their home market.
