Ireland in Focus at TIFF 2014

Ireland brings to the table 8 films, selected together with Grainne Humphreys, the director of the Dublin Film Festival.

Among these the thriller Love Eternal, the multi-awarded Calvary, with a sensational Brendan Gleeson who finds out, during confession, that he's about to be killed, What Richard Did, which made a star out of Jack Reynor, the protagonist of the next Transformers movie, the box-office hit comedy The Stag, distributed in Romania by the new distribution company Freealize, and Run and Jump, about a family who tries to recover after the father's stroke.

Directors Lisa Barros D´Sa and Glenn Leyburn wll come to TIFF with their BAFTA nominated debut film Good Vibrations, which takes place in the 70s, in Belfast, when a young man opens a music store in the most bombed part of the city. In the only documentary selected for this Focus, Men at Lunch, drector Sean O’Cualain goes in search of the true identities of the workers photographed in the famous 1932 still „Lunch atop a Skyscrapper”, emblematic for the Great Depression. Helen Mirren stars in a classic film from 1984, which brought her the Best Actress trophy in Cannes – Cal.
