Taxi Driver (d. Martin Scorsese) won Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1976 and was nominated for four Academy Awards Oscaruri, but was never screened in cinemas in Romania.
The film was re-mastered under the personal supervision of Martin Scorsese and of director of photography Michael Chapman. Scorsese insisted that all the interventions should respect the film’s original color scheme.
Sony Pictures released this restored version last year at Berlin Film Festival.
